It's official we are out of the church for the next few months.
Check back here often, I will post pictures as I get them.
July 4th Thank you to everyone who helped move all those heavy items out of the church.
July 8th and 9th. The pews have been removed.
July 12. The tile ceiling is down.
July 18 The new hardwood flooring for the sanctuary is delivered
July 19 Samples of the New Ceiling Tiles put in place
July 29 The carpet has been removed, we discover a patterned hardwood floor in the Sanctuary & Confessional
July 30 We uncover the old stenciling under the oilcloth on the walls
August 1 The flooring in the Sacristy is laid
August 2nd The Rose window is cleaned, repaired and back in place. The window over the front door is removed for cleaning and repair.
August 4 The new hardwood step going up to the Sanctuary is done
August 5 The remainder of the hardwood is finished. We put new hardwood
in front of the cutouts on either side of the sanctuary, on the platform for the Altar of Repose and on the floor under the balcony.
August 11 The electrician starts
August 16 The plaster work starts. We discover drawings and writings under the oil clothe imbedded in the original plaster.
August 19 The ceiling tiles arrive
AUGUST 25 The decision has been made to save the fresco's on the side wall of the sanctuary and over the center exit doors
AUGUST 27 Plastering continues, aproximately 1/3 of the ceiling tiles are up.
